Final Year 5 Funding Issued

The SLD has announced that, with very few exceptions, wave 30 will be the final funding wave for Year 5. In Pennsylvania, there was only one entity funded in wave 30 -- Hempfield Area School District, for $73,567.35. (For those of you keeping track, no Pennsylvania applicants were funded in waves 27, 28, or 29.) This brings Pennsylvania's total Year 5 funding commitments to more than $87 million -- a record for the state.
The SLD also announced that for year 5 they were not be able to fund Internal Connections discounts at the 80% level or below. All approved Internal Connections FRNs were funded at the 81%-90% discount levels.
Monday, June 30, 2003 is the final day of the Year 5 E-rate funding year for recurring services. Therefore, this is your first friendly reminder that after you receive your final June bill, you should complete a BEAR Form (Form 472), have your service provider sign, and submit to the SLD to get reimbursed. The deadline to submit this form is October 28.
