Year 5, Wave 12 E-rate FCDLs Mailed

Congratulations to the following 3 Pennsylvania schools and libraries that will be receiving Year 5 (Funding Year 2002-2003), Wave 12 E-rate Funding Commitment Letters, totaling $32,607.84. A summary of each commitment is listed below, and detailed information will be posted on the SLD web site under Funding Commitments: www.sl.universalservice.org/funding/.
If you find that your funding commitment letter does not arrive in a timely manner, please call the SLD ASAP to get a replacement (888-203-8100). All Year 5 correspondence is in BLUE.
Currently Schools and Libraries have funded approximately 80% of the funding requests received for Year 5 and funding is still only being provided for Priority One (Telecommunications and Internet Access) services at this time.
It is most likely that there will be no funding available for internal connections for discounts lower than 90%.
* The next step is to file the Form 486 which tells the SLD 3 things:
1) that they are authorized to pay invoices (either BEAR or SPIFs)
2) that your technology plan has been approved (and by which SLD-certified approver)
3) that you are or will be CIPA compliant by July 1, 2002.
THIS FORM MUST BE POSTMARKED BY OCTOBER 28, 2002
If your school or library has not been funded in any of the Year 5 waves and your application does not include Internal Connections, you can check the status of your application by accessing the SLD's web site at www.sl.universalservice.org and clicking on "Apply Online," then "Application Status" under the Form 471 column. You will need to provide your Billed Entity number and the Funding Year you wish to review.
