Good News for Applicants Who Experienced a Server-Crash on Jan. 19, 2000

The FCC has recently decided that applicants who were trying to file their E-rate applications online the night of January 19 and who experienced an SLD server crash and thus were unable to have their applications submitted ontime, will be able to have their applications considered as filed within the Year 3 "window" that expired midnight, Jan. 19, 2000. In order to be considered for this waiver, the applicant must have contacted the SLD promptly.

Apparently there are approx. 168 applicants affected, and each will be contacted personally by the SLD to explain the waiver and that a Receipt Acknowledgement Letter will be forthcoming. After that, of course, these applications will move to PIA for review before a funding commitment letter is mailed.
